'Out of the Blue' was first conceived as the intended debut release of Funeral Kids by Luke and Frazer when they had just started the band. Originally, the plan was to record the EP then find band members who were interested by the sound, then create a full band version. But, obviously, this didn't happen and 'Out of the Blue' was never released because the band came together sooner than originally intended, and it didn't make sense to record an acoustic EP with just two members, when the whole band now existed. Instead, Chroncakes was released.

After the recent hiatus of Funeral Kids (and the progression onto Death Rites), it seemed more of an appropriate time for Out of the Blue to be released.

Out of the blue not just to the world, but also to us too. These recordings happened organically on the 6th of January 2015, and only features Luke and Frazer. Hopefully you can share some nostalgia with us in these songs.
